Continuing on from last weeks announcement we would like to introduce Loluk Bistro, located behind Taylor Square, right on the border of Surry Hills and Darlinghurst. We will be including Loluk on both dining walk routes.
We are excited to be working with Luc & Loic, the two brothers behind the Southern French cuisine in an elegant sandstone terrace with a very French courtyard. They even have a set of boules on the ground ready for the next round. On a balmy Sydney summers evening this is the place to be.
Open since February 2017 Loluk has had some very favourable reviews since opening it's doors. We will be taking our guests for shared entree plates including: Pissaladière (Niçoise onion tart), Salmon Gravlax, Homemade Terrine and Double Cheese Soufflé. Feeling hungry yet?
Just hit the BOOK NOW button below if you want to come and check it out in good company. And stay tuned for more venue announcements soon.
Brown Paper Wine is the creation of Richard Powell, his mates call him all sorts of names: Richie, Dick, and many more colourful monikers. We first met when he supplied wines for a Surry Hills Creative Precinct function we attended a year ago. His passion and joy in introducing people to good wine was evident from the moment he poured us a glass.
We have always wanted to do an event with Skarfe since we stumbled across the tiny, colourful store in it’s original location on Roslyn Terrace. Owner Brad McGlashan - a fellow New Zealander - kicked off his business in the same year as The Sydney Connection began so we always had plenty to talk about on our instore visits.
We first became aware of Grand Days existence at the Kings Cross festival in 2014., purchasing a book about Diane Keaton and having a brief chat with co-owner Tom at the stall. Since those early days this William Street icon has transformed from books only to a treasure trove of records and vintage clothing for men & women plus an amazing range of retro accessories.
In a past life we worked in the interior design business, selling furniture, ceramics and glassware to interior designers and their clients. When your in an industry you always want to know who your competitors are and what they are up to. So Stylecraft was on our radar and never failed to impress with it’s modern approach and vast showroom on Liverpool Street.
Discover one of the jewel's of the Northern Beaches hospitality scene: located on the first floor of the stunning white heritage building, The Bistro at Manly Pavilion is one of the best Italian restaurants in Sydney. With an amazing outdoor terrace with panoramic views of the harbour, you could not ask for a more beautiful place to dine al fresco in Sydney.
This October we are proud to present our third Crafty Dining experience as part of Sydney Craft Week and Good Food Month. This time we are heading for East Sydney, showcasing the rich variety of contemporary furniture design, vintage fashion and dining options on the streets of East Sydney and Potts Point.
We first discovered the Australian Design Centre in the early 2000’s when we a started attending various design shows at the original gallery.
Introducing Bartolo from Jared Merlino - one half of the team behind Big Poppas and Kitty Hawk - as one of our new hot spots for summer in Surry Hills. Embracing traditional Italian ingredients, flavours and hospitality, and pairing them with a creative, dynamic approach.
This contemporary restaurant and bar has been designed to reflect the timelessness of Southern Italian coffee and wine bars. Think blue velvet banquettes and low lights with beautifully framed famille photos from the old world lining the walls.
Our newest dining walk is in Manly - a laidback beachside suburb situated on the Northern shores of Sydney. Home to surfers, famous authors & actors and many Sydneysiders who are happy to commute to the city daily in exchange for ‘living the dream’ by the beach.
A new Sydney festival dedicated to all things effervescent and a first of its kind, Sparkling Australia went off recently in Pyrmont. With many different varieties of bubbles on offer, good food matches and an enthusiastic crowd. Food provodores included Goose on the Loose amazing salamis; cheeses from La Bastide; Tar10’s gourmet condiments and Hunter Valley Cheese tasting plates.
We are excited to announce a new event Sparkling SYDNEY happening this weekend in Pyrmont - the precinct where The Sydney Connection first began with our progressive dinners as part of the Pyrmont Food & Wine Festival in 2013. This event has been created by the original PWF team and promises to be a winner!
