We have taken the change of season as a cue to give our Darlinghurst dining tour route a reboot. Adding two new restaurant discoveries to tantalize our guests taste buds. Also one half of Oxford Street is currently under development for at least the next few years so we had no choice!

We are now starting our Darlinghurst tour ‘over the border’ of Campbell Street in Surry Hills at  Dead Ringer. Housed in a grand terrace house, with handsome wood joinery & leather upholstery, the two-sided dining room frames an equally handsome bar. The team has a genuine love of good hospitality and food paired with classy cocktails. We describe Dead Ringer to our guests as ‘a restaurant with a well-stocked bar’. And it’s only a few steps from the rainbow crossing and the birth place of gay rights in Australia: Oxford Street.

We will still be popping into Big Poppa’s for our Lamb Shoulder Ragu fix. Bravely staying the course whilst the redevelopment happens around them, we think it’s important to support local business whilst the winds of change envelop them.

We will share historical stories about the site of the National Art School, formerly the notorious Darlinghurst Gaol, and check out the beautiful old-world residential streets of Darlo before popping out on the other side onto the vibrant dining precinct of Victoria Street.

Our first new player is Fortuna - a slick and modern dining room located on the corner of Victoria and Liverpool Streets. With a focus on Italian cuisine but with a distinct difference in menu and style from other Italian restaurants that we frequent. We will be adding another new player for our mains course very soon.
