Recently some dear friends of ours wanted to celebrate their 10th Wedding anniversary in iso so ordered in Bloodwood online feast. Apparently it was amazing and made their special day so much better in the current situation.

So, if you have a special occasion coming up and you want to order something more exciting than pizza, try one of the many fine dining restaurant delivery offerings. This is a unique opportunity to taste your favourite dishes in your home environment at really reasonable price points. AND support your local!

Here is our first suggestion to kick you off on your quest:

Seven years ago when we first started The Sydney Connection we received the support of a few key restaurants & bars. Eventually establishing TSC as the leading dining walk experience of inner city Sydney for visitors and locals alike. We are using the disruption to normal service during CV19 to return the favour and support their delivery and pick-up services by posting their latest offers on our platforms.

One of those early supporters were the owner operators of Bar H: Hamish Ingham (Head Chef), his wife Rebecca Lines (Sommelier) and their lovely Restaurant Manager Nicole Starkey of Bar H in Surry Hills. We first invited Bar H to be part of our Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival dining walks and they were also part of our original Surry Hills route. The tempura corn with the sweet chilli aioli and the King fish sashimi were big guest favourites and walking into the small but buzzing dining room always a highlight of the tour.  They sold Bar H a few years ago and these days they have the big & shiny Banksii Vermouth Bar & Bistro at Barangaroo on the waterfront.

So we want to show our support for them, now that the going has got tough and the tough have got innovative in the hospo industry.  Banksii have worked through what CV19 means to their business, their fabulous employees and the amazing suppliers who support them every day. They have asked ourselves what is their core purpose for existing, how do they survive & what can they do to help their community.

After recognising their core purpose is to feed, nourish & offer some respite from the daily grind to their customers they have put together a specialised online grocery shop with delivery to your door.

Featuring some Banksii menu highlights such as a 1/2 lamb shoulder with braised lentils and zuni pickle; Banksii’s famous Trifle w/vanilla cream, Vermouth soaked sponge, fresh berries, passionfruit jelly & baby meringue's and Charcuterie boards w/ prosciutto, Salami, bresola, Banksii pickled chillis and marinated olives. There is also a selection of Rebecca’s handpicked mystery wines available.

We wish the Banksii team all the best in riding out the storm and look forward to seeing them open again on the other side.
