Grants offer lifeline to businesses, artists and community groups

More than 400 Covid-19 relief grants were awarded

455 cash grants totalling $6.75 million will help businesses survive the economic impacts of the global Covid-19 pandemic, support organisations that are there for the most vulnerable and allow artists to continue to create.

Businesses, charities and individuals can now get back on their feet and increase their chances of moving into the recovery stage.

City of Sydney offered 4 grant programs to address the immediate needs of our communities:

  • The cultural sector resilience grants will provide immediate financial support to the not-for-profits and sole traders who often rely on individual grant rounds and project-based funds to maintain their minimal employees and pay artists.

  • The creative fellowships fund supports artists to engage in creative development of works and projects driven by the cultural sector, and to purchase materials and equipment

  • Small business grants to innovate and adapt

  • Community services grants help organisations working in the priority areas of food insecurity, digital inclusion and social connection to support our vulnerable residents.

As part of our Covid-19 response measures, City of Sydney are also operating a business concierge service to provide advice and support to local businesses and organisations throughout the pandemic.

You can call them on 02 9265 9333 Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4pm or email CityConcierge@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
