We were thrilled to be invited to speak today on the latest Creative Precinct COVID Recovery series via Surry Hills Creative Precinct Inc facebook/ live page.

It's worth watching the whole 60 minutes for an insight into the impact of COVID on three small business owners and how they handled lockdown and the following months of adjusting their business to the new normal. Hosted by Mike Galvin, Vice President of SHCP, the panel discussion also features an economic update, fitness and well-being tips, a comedy segment, live music and a local business profile.

One of our fellow panelists was Hamilton Kings, owner and founder of Honkas - Bar + Eats Pizza Autentico and recent startup Love Local.

Having owned multiple hospitality businesses over the past 15 years, he has a strong understanding of the eastern suburbs restaurant scene. When Sydney went into lockdown, he launched Love Local a localised delivery platform as he was unable to justify the huge fees of UberEats and Deliveroo. By charging just 12% compared to the 33% currently charged by the big players Love Local has grown to an offering of twenty restaurants throughout Potts Point, Woolloomooloo, Darlinghurst and Surry Hills precincts.

Mike introduces The Sydney Connection at the 23.32 minute mark of the show if your short on watching time.

Thank you Surry Hills Creative Precinct Inc for your support of local business.
