Mon Petit Chou Boutique is an established ladies fashion boutique, who recently made the move further up Macleay Street to a new and bigger location opposite the famous landmark the El Alamein Fountain. Owner/operator Robyn Mann sources most of her brands on regular trips to Europe, specialising in designer clothing.
Purveyors of fresh, made-to-order sandwiches as well as hearty salads, homely sweets and delicious coffee. Small’s Deli have a passion for quality ingredients and try to keep things as local and sustainable as possible. Designer Emily Van Loon and chef Ben Shemesh (ex-Dear Sainte Eloise) were on a summer holiday in Bologna, Italy, when they first came up with the idea of running their own sandwich shop.
Last week we shot the first part of our new promo video with the fabulous guys from JJ Splice Digital at Surry Hills and Darlinghurst venues: Brix Distillers, Loluk Bistro and Tilly May’s. Two of our cast members are also fantastic photographers so we were very lucky to get some great behind the scene shots whilst on the shoot. We are shooting the second part this week so should have a finished product to show off very soon.
It is almost two months to the day since we wrote our last news editorial on The Sydney Connection website, and hasn’t it been strange? As we are come out of lockdown here in Sydney there’s a mixed reaction in hospitality quarters to the new rules.

With the social distancing measures in place it is understandably not economically viable for all cafes, restaurants and bars to open immediately. Some of the smaller operations are going ahead to get back into the groove of service, whilst continuing to offer take away and delivery options.
Our long term relationship with Golden Age Cinema began in 2016 when we began our Sydney Mardi Gras Festival dining walk event at the subterranean space which was formerly the offices of Paramount Pictures. Imbibing in a cocktail named after a classic film, a side of popcorn served in a cocktail shaker or a decadent antipasto platter to share.
Next week it is a certain Chief Guides birthday! And she has an idea to help promote her favourite small bars and restaurants new home delivery and take out services: she is asking all her online guests to order their celebratory cocktails and accompanying foods from these venues. Guest will also be able to buy the birthday girl a drink!
Seven years ago when we first started The Sydney Connection as a day tour business of food, fashion and design, we received the support of a few key restaurants & bars. One of those early supporters were the owner operators of Bar H: Hamish Ingham (Head Chef), his wife Rebecca Lines (Sommelier) of Bar H in Surry Hills.
We are sure you are growing tired of posts about CV19, but we wanted to let you know where The Sydney Connection stands in regards to what has happened over the past two weeks across the planet. We have now gone into booking hibernation for April and May 2020. We have our online booking calendar open from June 2020 onward and we do expect this to change according to the information we are receiving daily, on the spreading of the virus.
