The Sydney Connection in conjunction with Potts Point Partnership proudly presents our latest dining walk as part of City of Sydney’s Village Food Adventures for Good Food Month
Dine like a Potts Point princess in modern dining rooms or hole-in-the-wall cafes in a precinct that is constantly changing gear. Promenade down a laneway lined with Malaysian, Korean, Mod Oz and Americana influenced restaurants bursting with loyal locals on a nightly basis. Devour the food of semi-established and respected chefs. Potts Point is an area that has been entertaining the bohemians and the jet set alike, from the 1940s to present day. This is your night to try it all out!
Showcasing the diverse range of cultures, cooking styles and high standard of service prevalent in the Potts Point / Kings Cross precinct. As part of this year’s Good Food Month programme we are offering a choice of two simultaneous dining walks of the laneway: Asian & European flavours.
Ten guests - per walk - will enjoy the company and knowledge of a local guide whilst being introduce to four different venues in one night. Dining on the signature dish from each restaurant pared with matching wine.
The Asian flavours walk will begin at Osaka Bar where guests will sample Chef Kazu Natatani’s intricate Japanese soul delicacies served with matching sake. Then it’s a hop across the laneway to Bang Tang for a fresh & colourful Thai salad created by the ever welcoming owner/operator Nut. We then zap back to Kim the modern & innovative Korean dining room of co-owners David Ralph and TK Go for Soy & Pear Braised Oxtail served on nine grain rice with roasted seaweed on the mains menu. Finally we finish with a decadent taste of Malaysia at KL Kitchen – hosted by locals Jamie & Peter – of Banana Roti topped with Gula Melaka (palm sugar & cinnamon) and a glass of sticky!
For our European flavours walk we start at the laneways hottest bar Waterman’s Lobster Co relishing a light glass of Jamsheed Madame Chard Chardonnay or Bress Sparkling accompanied by their famous school prawns w/ Bay salt & lime aioli. Then it’s a quick stroll down to the Kings Cross end of Llankelly for a taste of the Amalfi Coast at the new-look MAD Pizza Pronto. A generous entrée of Sicilian meatballs cooked in tomato sugo with a side of rocketo Insalata will put a smile on everyone’s face!
Next up: more Italian at Pizza Boccone where Chef Samuele Lauretti will be preparing us a rich mains course from his native Naples. Head chef Adam Lord and The Roosevelt’s resident mixologist are tailoring an exclusive decadent dessert & cocktail combo as the grand finale to European flavours! Reminisce about the good ole’ days – pre-lockout - in The Monroe room, whilst sipping on a well-dressed tall drink in this former gangster’s liar.
So come and wine & dine like a local!
