Dulcie’s to your door

Dulcie’s to your door

We are sure you are growing tired of posts about CV19, but we wanted to let you know where The Sydney Connection stands in regards to what has happened over the past two weeks across the planet.

We have now gone into booking hibernation for April and May 2020. We have our online booking calendar open from June 2020 onward and we do expect this to change according to the information we are receiving daily, on the spreading of the virus.  If the situation does not improve and our restaurants and small bars have to remain closed beyond June, we will not be able to offer our dining walk tours until we have been given the all clear. If the we collectively ‘flatten the curve’ then we will be back out dining in our beloved inner city Sydney restaurants quick as!

We are feeling very sad and dismayed by the carnage that has been wrought on the hospitality industry by this health crisis. It is an industry that has a strong sense of community and when many businesses fall all at once the community feels the impact. This spirit of being in this together is now playing a big part in keeping small businesses going, sharing resources and information with each other. Meeting the challenge of keeping their business going for as long as possible.

Many of the restaurants and bars that we visit are now offering take-away versions of their menu and selling their stock in the form of pop-up pantries as another source of income. Which is kind of a fun concept for a dire situation!

For the cocktail lovers among you there is ‘Dulcie’s to your door’ - you can now order a cocktail with all the trimmings: sexy glass, cheese board and even a coaster from the comfort of your self-isolation pod!

if you need to stock up on hand sanitiser Brix Distillers have got you covered. Their now producing this liquid gold as fast as possible to supply you and non-for-profit organisations. They have also very ingeniously set-up a pop-up pantry window at the bar on Bourke Street with pasta, pickles, rice, couscous, cocktail packs and of course, some good old rum.

Llankelly Place favourites Et Al have joined the new Love Local delivery service , for those who can’t live without their delicious rustic food. We have withdrawals whenever we don’t have their crisp potatoes in smoked golden syrup for more than a month!

We encourage all our followers to support your local food & beverage providers wherever you are in the world, so long as it is deemed safe to do so. If you are well and practicing the new etiquette of social distancing, buy your daily coffee from a different cafe each day. Spread love not the virus!

We will keep you informed of key local offers on our socials for those of you based in the 2010 & 2011 postcodes in Sydney, so you know where best to order your lunch or dinner from any day of the week.

We are working on new ideas for the recovery period and will let keep you informed when we know it is safe to go out again.

Thank you for your continued support.
Stay safe and wash your hands.
