Glebe Tasting Trek goes off!

One of our seven groups of guests on last night's dining walk

Our first Glebe Tasting Trek dining walk event went off with a bang last night!

We sold three quarters of our tickets which is a great outcome for a first time event in the middle of winter competing with established events such as Vivid and Sydney Film Festival.

Thanks to all our lovely guests who fully participated in the trekking experience on such a cold night. Friendships were made and food stories swapped across the table. The restaurants delivered a diverse - and very tasty - menu of cuisine from India, Slovakia, Greece and Lebanon.

More photos and stories from the night on the blog next week!

A big thanks to Bombay Street Kitchen Ahgora Tommy's Beer Cafe Thievery and Different Drummer for hosting us. And of course Glebe Chamber of Business and City of Sydney for your support.

Sydney Mardi Gras Events Announced

Sydney Mardi Gras Events Announced

We are thrilled to announce our third Dining Walk event as part of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival programme in February 2016! Let The Sydney Connection take you on a guided dining walk of four of the best small bars & restaurants Surry Hills and Darlinghurst have to offer on each walk.

This is a great chance for Sydney Mardi Gras Festival visitors to meet the locals. And for the locals to discover their own city from a different perspective whilst meeting some new people. Showcasing Sydney’s fabulous multi-cultural cuisine, natural hospitality and rich queer history and culture along the way.

New Site LIVE!

New Site LIVE!

We are very excited to announce that we are now LIVE with our new-look website! Coupled with a new offer - Wine & Dine with a Local -  this week is an exciting time in the life of The Sydney Connection.

Guests can now book year-round to wine & dine with a local at some of Sydney's top inner city restaurants. We have allocated specific days of the week for specific precincts. This is only a mid-week offer due to the nature of these walks but if you give us enough notice we can also arrange special events on Saturday nights..

Here is the new blurb: The Sydney Connection curates private dining walks around our favourite inner city precincts of Surry Hills Darlinghurst and Potts Point on a daily basis.

Accompanied by a well-connected guide, our walks are aimed at visitors and Sydneysiders who want to go ‘where the locals go’ for inspiring food, good service and cool interiors. We take bookings for between 1 - 10 Guests per booking and visit 4 venues on each walk. Enjoying a different course at each venue accompanied by matching wine.

We will still be offering special food events as part of the various festivals we have been associated with such as Good Food Month, Pyrmont Wine, Food & Art Festival and Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Big thanks to JK Blackwell @twoguineapigs photography for the lush images; Larry Singer for his technical assistance in moving the old to the new; the Girlfriend Club - always surround yourself with smart women! -  for all your helpful suggestions on how to make the site look better and all our family & friends for their unwavering support & encouragement.

We hope you like our new look! YAH!
